Naptime sketch

I've been pretty busy lately getting back into the groove of preschool life, and finishing up a coloring book (I'm illustrating the coloring book, not just sitting around coloring - but that sounds fun too!). Anyway, I haven't posted much art lately, but plan on getting back to that next week. So, in the meantime, here is a little guy I sketched yesterday while my preschool class was napping. Oh, yes, that wonderful hour of my day when all the activity comes to a grinding halt and there is nothing but the sound of naptime music and snoring. If I'm all caught up, I get to sketch a while. This was drawn with a very fat preschool pencil. Oddly enough, I end up drawing sleepy preschoolers a lot. This guy doesn't really look sleepy - should have drawn him heavy eyelids. Give him a few minutes, that naptime music will do anyone in. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm sure the coloring book will be fantastic, Debbie :-) Thanks for all your great work. Great sketch, too.
